Bruce Carr Joins Sunshine State Bank as EVP, CLO

In a press release, Sunshine State Bank announced that Bruce R. Carr has joined the business as Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer. As EVP, Carr will be in charge of leading, managing, and directing the daily operations and expansion of the credit team.

Carr brings nearly 31 years of lending and credit experience to the Bank. Prior to joining 141028 Carr Bruce Sunshine State BankSunshine State Bank, Carr served as Senior Vice President, Senior Business Banker at First Citrus Bank for more than seven years. He also served various leadership roles with Bank of Lancaster County for 23 years.

According to Andrew Samuel, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Sunshine Bancorp, Inc., “His strong banking background and strategic planning skills will make him a great addition to the leadership team.”

Carr earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and diplomas from Bucknell University’s Central Atlantic School of Banking and Commercial Lending.

In addition to his banking career, Carr is active in the community. He has been on the board of The American Cancer Society where he served as the chairman of the Relay for Life for 4 years. He has also been involved with United Cerebral Palsy and the YMCA. Carr lives in Tampa with his wife Cindy and family.
